Battlestar Galactica

Just finished watching the first part of the SciFi Channel’s updated mini-series based on the old Battlestar Galactica series.

Honestly, while far from perfect, it’s a vast improvement on the original, and other than a few design decisions which I haven’t warmed to yet, such as the slight redesign of the Galactica itself, the fanboys who are whining about this being a “travesty” compared to the original can just bite me.

Personal Crow marathon …

It’s one-thirty in the morning and I can’t sleep, so I’m getting my annual Crow marathon out of the way.

Currently, the third movie, The Crow: Salvation is playing in the background. As time moves on, and I get more viewings of this relatively unseen chapter in the Crow story, I’m getting to the point of putting it up there on equal footing with the original. The second movie can be forgotten for the most part, but the third more than made up for it, and tells a story that’s different than that of the first, with a bit of thriller and mystery thrown into the mix, with a subtle toning down on the action as drama takes over in a small town atmosphere that almost makes this last movie darker than the first.

Good stuff. Rent it when you get a chance.
