Thomas Heatherwick's Rolling Bridge

This is a great side view of what northwestern Londoners call “The Rolling Bridge”, a foot bridge designed by Thomas Heatherwick for the Paddington Basin development. The bridge is designed to span a forty-foot expanse, but rolls gracefully up on remote-command through the use of hydraulics.

  1. What do the rest of london call it? When i went to visit it from my House in SE4 my friend ,who lives in SW9 called it the rolling bridge but then again he’s seen 30 Saint May axe or what “Cheeky Cockneys ” call the Gherkin.
