The two alien creatures glared malevolently from the command and control bubble on top of their best of class space saucer, parked conveniently outside the nearest population center.
Toothy, energized smiles beamed from their disgusting, otherworldly middle-management mouths, as they knew the time of convergence was almost upon them, time to touch base with the homeworld and shift the paradigm on Operation Blue Sky Venture.
“Truly, Overlord Xylyx, this is a big win for our people. Soon, we can dissolve this strategic alliance with the humans and take their core competencies as our own!”
“Excellent, Overlord Z’agnat! Your plot to underpromise and overdeliver these fools to their doom will facilitate our deliverables of productizing all of human buzz into the most dangerous weapon to face the galaxy.”
“Yes, this milestone marks a big win for our conquest action items.”
“Now then, fast-track our return home, I want to return to the Overlord mindshare and –“
The alien’s dialog with his peer was cut off by a shriek as a human ran from the saucer with a book in his hands.
“Downsize that human! Performance manage him with extreme prejudice!” shouted Overlord Xylyx.
Overlord Z’agnat brought the proprietary weapon systems online and recontextualized the man’s atoms into rounding errors, but not quick enough to stop him shouting to the crowd around the saucer.
“Everyone! Everyone! All-hands meeting! The book … it’s … it’s a dog and pony show!”

If there’s one constant on the Internet, it’s that there will always be security threats that the every day user will need to watch out for.
I had a chance this morning to talk to the Wills & Snyder Show on WTAM 1000 in Cleveland about the current 5 common security threats.

Summer is almost over, which means parents around the nation have already started getting their kids ready for school. One of the high-tech items on that back to school list may be a new laptop, so here are some Geek Squad tips on portable PC purchases.

Our local Geek Squad USO 1817 took an opportunity to be part of the 2010 Pro Football Hall of Fame Parade in Canton, Ohio today. It’s always good fun to hear the crowd shouting “Geek Squad!” as soon as they see the Geekmobiles.
The crowd went wild when the Best Buy Blue Shirts and Geek Squad Agents would “spin” the float during the parade.
Additional photos from the parade can be found here.

As more people get smartphones, it’s likely that they’ll find at least one or more of their friends owns a competing smartphone platform.
So what’s the best way to handle any friendly debates you may have with your friends? This video recommendation may help.
]]>In the days of VHS tapes, fast forwarding or rewinding to a favorite part not only took time, but it put a lot of wear and tear on the tape itself. DVDs helped in that you could instantly load a particular scene, but still required you to not only own the movie, but to go through the physical process of locating the disc and inserting it into your player. That’s all changed in the age of streaming media.
As more of our media starts streaming in from the cloud rather from discs in our CD, DVD or Blu-ray players, I’m starting to wonder what other consumption habits will change. With Napster allowing me to listen to just about any song I can think of nearly instantly, I’ve certainly found that my listening habits have become very scatter-shot when it comes to bands and genres.

It seems like every family has a wireless network in their homes these days, but did you know that laptops and game consoles aren’t the only thing you can connect to that wireless router?
I had an opportunity to speak to Cleveland’s Fox 8 News morning team about “internet media devices”, like the Kodak Pulse wireless digital photo frame and the Insignia Infocast.
Really, it’s only a matter of time until EVERYTHING in your house is wireless. Even the dog.
