Windows XP SP2 and Games

Gamespot has an article up now listing games known to have problems with Service Pack 2 for Windows XP, mostly due to security upgrades to the networking components.

If you’ve been having trouble with some of your games since installing this latest operating system update, you might want to check against the list to pinpoint where the problem might be.

Microsoft also has a list they’ve compiled of applications they know to have problems with the update, along with some possible fixes.

Self-publish your books

I know that there are a number of websites that allow you to use your artwork to create products like t-shirts and mugs available for sale, but I didnt realise that the print on demand industry has taken off on the web as well.

Sites like Lulu.com seem to have finally made self-publishing rather easy to do, which is good news for those of you writing your own books. Of course, the bad news is now you actually have less of an excuse to never finish them.

Another day, another virus …

Yet another virus is currently rampaging across the Internet this week, serving as one more reminder for computer users to make sure their anti-virus is up to date, if they don’t have it automatically doing so.

This particular virus is a “Bagle” variant, and is described in this eWeek.com article.

The attachments come in the form of .zip files that can be executed simply by opening them up in the default .zip viewer that comes with Windows XP.
